Prince Harry’s Final Day in South Africa

On his final day in South Africa, Prince Harry has had an audience with the country’s President, Jacob Zuma.


The duo met at the President’s residence, Mahlamba Ndlopfu, in Pretoria where during their hour-long meeting they spoke about efforts to help vulnerable children, a topic which has been one of the theme’s of the Prince’s visit.

Prince Harry then moved on to the Siyabonga School in Soweto to talk to students taking part in the Nelson Mandela – The Champion Within program and those appointed Queen’s Young Leaders, both a programs which aim to inspire youth to get into leadership positions. He spent much time speaking with the people in attendance, listening to their experiences and sharing his own about how the military shaped the person he is today.

<a gi-track='captionPersonalityLinkClicked' href='/galleries/personality/178173' ng-click='$event.stopPropagation()'>Prince Harry</a> visits a Youth Empowerment Exposition where he met young entrepreneurs at The Bus Factory during an official visit to Africa on December 3, 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa.The final event on the Prince’s agenda was a visit to the Nelson Mandela Foundation for the “Remembering Madiba” tribute in the lead-up to the second anniversary of the late President’s death. Harry was greeted by Graca Machal, the late President’s widow, and delivered a short speech before being shown the private archives located in the building’s basement, a number of pieces had been brought out for the Prince to look at, including a photograph of President Mandela with Diana, Princess of Wales taken in 1997.
