December 25, 2015 at 6:51 pm by RossinaThe Royal Hashemite Court announced on Friday the death of Mrs Doris Halaby, the mother of Queen Noor of Jordan and grandmother of her four children, Prince Hamzah, Prince Hashem, Princess Iman and Princess Raiyah.
The statement offered condolences to the Queen and her children; it did not contain any information about the late Doris or the details of her burial and funeral.
Mrs Doris Carlquist Halaby, who died in the United States, was an American national of Swedish descent. She was the first wife of the late Najeeb Elias Halaby, Jr., the former CEO of Pan American World Airways. The couple’s eldest daughter Lisa married King Hussein of Jordan in 1987. Lisa became Her Majesty Queen Noor Al-Hussein of Jordan.
