Danish Crown Prince Couple To Visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will head a Danish business delegation to Saudi Arabia and Qatar at the end of this month.
The trip – in which 44 companies will promote Danish business interests – had been mentioned in the media a short while ago, and now confirmed, has created further discussion on whether it is a wise choice for the heir to the throne and his wife to visit a country such as Saudi Arabia given its political leanings. For Mary, a particular point of discussion concerns her involvement in women’s rights causes and how it will look that she is promoting Denmark to a country where such rights are not a priority.

An official visit to Saudi Arabia from the King and Queen of Spain has also been mentioned in the Spanish media for several months, however nothing has been confirmed, and similar criticisms have been voiced over that supposed trip.
