It has been announced that King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians will pay a state visit to Japan this October, on the invitation of Emperor Akihito.
The visit will take place between October 9 to 15, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries and to “further develop the relationship of friendship, goodwill and cooperation that our countries have built in a variety of fields”, as per Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga.
The monarchs will visit Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, and enjoy a banquet at the Imperial Palace.
