Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan has started a working visit to Washington D.C.
The first event of her visit on April 14 was attending and participating in the screening of Salam Neighbor, a film on Syrian refugees. The event was held at the Gaston Hall at Georgetown University. After the screening of the film, Queen Rania made remarks on the situation. Also making remarks were the filmmakers Chris Temple and Zach Ingrasci with producers Salam Darwaza and MohabKhattab.
On April 15, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended the IMF and World Bank Group 2016 Spring Meetings. The session was theme titled “Forced Displacement: a Global Development Challenge”. During the event, Queen Rania gave a speech. She highlighted humanitarian disasters and responsibilities saying “This is a global crisis, and we are deluding ourselves if we think it can be contained.”
