King Philippe and Queen Mathilde Visit West Flanders

Today, Wednesday November 9, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde paid a visit to the Province of West Flanders.

The visit began quite early, at 7am, when the Royal Couple visited the fish auction market of Zeebrugge where they met with the families of the fishermen and inside the market they assisted at some auctions.

Afterwards the King and Queen had breakfast with students of the Koninklijk Werk IBIS school in Bredene. The school was founded on July 6, 1906 by King Albert I for orphans of the fisheries industry.

Later the Royal Couple visited the Hotel School Ter Duinen in Koksijde to mark the 70th anniversary of its foundation. The King and Queen made a tour of the school, visited the kitchen, had a chance to taste some dishes and then talked with students about their training and future projects.
